What a great day for a fair - Lakefair in this case. This is an non profit organization that runs annually and is located down by the waterfront in Olympia. They have lots of good fair food, vendors, and of course rides. I grabbed two friends, Barbara and Gina, and our daughter Jennifer and we took off for the opening day of the fair on Wednesday. We were all newbies to the fair if you can believe it - we've only been here 3 years but some of us *wink* have been here a bit longer - how could we resist enjoying a lazy summer day eating elephant ears, cotton candy and this great ferris wheel. Well, actually anyone that knows me knows that heights are not exactly my favorite thing! I always go the extra mile though for Jennifer since there's no way I'm going on any rides that spin - which pretty much leaves me off of everything. I will do roller coasters though! I also learned that day that Gina likes ferris wheels about as much as I do and Barbara only goes on them for the "older" men in ther life - her husband and her Dad! She was happy holding our goodies and waving from the comfort of the bench they so kindly provided firmly planted on the ground. It was a perfect summer day - family, friends (who are like family), sugar and the sun - which is a treat here in the Northwest! It didn't even get too hot or too cold - God is so good! We shopped around to all the vendors spending a little extra time at the jewlery booths and even got a history tour of some of the lake - thank you Barbara! We already have our next schedule of events planned for our next day trip to Olympia! Did I mention we also went to a great store called Canvas Works? They did have material and patterns for eveything from outdoor gear to awnings but the fun part was looking at all the yarn! Don't get me wrong, I would probably never use it since my medium is paper not yarn - you won't find a sewing machine in my house unless it belongs to my husband or daughter, but it was fun to look! Well, I am off to go get ready for the day and go clean up the church for a wedding - then we are stampin' for a bit and going to our first game of our first tournament for our daughter's soccer team. Did I mention she's an awesome soccer player. She plays midfield. Thank you all too for your prayers for our family while our husband and father is serving our country far, far away. We love you Tim!

You came to my town and went to the fair without me :( . Looks like you had a ton more fun than I did on Wednesday afternoon as I was at the dentist during that time getting a crown removed and a new one constructed. I have a lovely temporary crown now for the next two weeks.
We have our first soccer game tonight too. GO Jennifer GO!! (Yeah I know we're not supposed to use verbs ;) )
Keep on blogging, I love to read people's blogs. I really should start my own blog too. Maybe Jill needs to give me a pep talk too.
We need to hook at either at one of the games or at practice, I have something for you, Jennifer, Evan and especially Tim.
Looks like a great day Denise. We need to schedule something soon.
